Re: Anyone tried the latest Rockford release?
Tucked in over Christmas, had about 4 or 5 of the 17 Moppa, always love this wine and serve it straight from the wine fridge at 14-15 degs. The 17 is a quality example and will age over medium term but I just can’t keep my hands of them. Had the 09 Rifle Range, in pristine condition but somewhat rai...

Re: Intro and question
Sorry for the thread drift Adam. I’ve been drinking Zalto for years, and I really like the Zalto Uni for Champagne now, prefer it to the actual Zalto champers glass. I haven’t tried the GG yet, but I’ve heard enough from other to know they are extremely good. I’m a Chardonnay focussed Drinker and th...

Re: Intro and question
I’d agree with this.
One thing I would add is most references to Burgundy on forums tend to assume it’s red. That is a major mistake as in my opinion the best, most consistent wine from Burgundy is white... Premox issues noted.

How was the stonewaller lunch Craig? Michael, actually booked in for later in the year for a Saturday lunch, not this time alas. There is a new section affectionately known as the kennel as it was an old shed of sorts where the dogs used to sleep. After years of leaks, rot and neglect it has been t...

I've never had any problems with Langtons; that said I choose my purchases carefully thus minimising the risk.As for the site freezing, there's no way you can be sure the problem was Langtons, but in any case, yes, when I desperately want a wine I will put in my max bid early, otherwise you just ha...

Happy Christmas Tony, good to see you are drinking well.

I know right, what a cracking surprise.
Not to mention the epic lunches, and just the general friendly helpful vibe from every interaction.
Such a beautiful winery too.
One day i'll get down for the Golf day.
Love the place.

Re: Is Rockford Basket Press Worth the Fuss?
Is BP worth the fuss? Not so far for me, but i don't have the experience with the wine at 20+ years, an important caveat. Interestingly, the only BP that has stood out was a 98 drunk maybe 5 years ago. Is Rockford worth the fuss? Most def. Absolutely love the place, its more than the wine sold. Only...

Enjoy mate. I’d also put Tralee high on your list if/when you revisit.
Portrush is class, and if you have time Portstewart is certainly worth a look. Even 9 holes. Lastly, Bushmills restaurant will hit the spot after a long days golf.

Chanel price their $50k handbags primarily to sell a lot more of their $5k handbags in the window alongside. If they actually sell the more expensive bag then it’s a bonus. It’s called anchoring, and it works in a lot of instances.

That Ian Tickle fella sure hits the golf ball a long way!!
Seems like every year he takes the longest drive...must be all the frustration of supporting Liverpool the last couple of decades
Anyone got early views on the Moppa this year?

On reflection the 'Oddero' Barolo sixth from the left might be a Coterno, and the yellow necked bottle to the right is likely a Burgundy if not a Chablis.

Chaco Bar in Darlinghurst.
$15 corkage.
Glassware = not great, I bring my own.
Food = Japanese.
Quality = very good.
Wouldn't suit big groups/offlines.

Staying at the course is an excellent decision.
If it's your first time there, don't be surprised if you decide to golf in the afternoon instead of winery visits, particularly if weather is decent.
