Deano, don't think it will stop...I purchased the 86 BP for $11 and the 90/91 for $15. On current trend the 2020 BP release may be $90.
What I don't think will happen is the bullshit that is so common in the Barossa now of $100, $200, $400, $800 wines marketed to smucks...that these are the best ever, twice, four, twelve times better than BP...tell'em their dreaming
Cheers craig

That Ian Tickle fella sure hits the golf ball a long way!!
Seems like every year he takes the longest drive...must be all the frustration of supporting Liverpool the last couple of decades :P

Anyone got early views on the Moppa this year?

I just get lucky once a year  Mind you it's been about 5 times or so....

As for supporting Liverpool, It's been tough for many years but we never lose faith. Our club has an amazing history and all the other clubs in England just wish they had a home atmosphere like Anfield. Having been a few times, it is amazing. Even if you aren't a Liverpool supporter, if you ever get the chance to go to a European game at Anfield, do whatever it takes to get yourself there. In all seriousness, it makes an NRL or AFL Grand Final seem like a snooze fest. The atmosphere is just incredible. Even my wife, who dislikes football, said the hairs on the back of her neck stood up, especially during the YNWA rendition. We are equal top at the moment and haven't been playing well. As soon as the front 3 click - look out! YNWA.

As for the Moppa, the only really bad one I've had in the last 15 years is the 2011. It was horrible in my eyes. It is our house red (helps to win plenty every year at the Black Magnum!) and has been for years. During all but the very poor vintages, it delivers good value and a great mid week drinker. Very reliable wine that ages better than one would expect.

Cheers
Ian
If you had to choose between drinking great wine or winning Lotto, which would you choose - Red or White?

Indeed, some vintages can age a treat, like the 1998 which was very nice at 18 years:

Sorry to spam with Liverpool chat. But it is truly an extraordinary experience being a fan. I've never been so optimistic as I am right now.

Back to wine. I ordered the Rifle Range, Basket Press and the Sparkling. Anyone tried yet?

I may pop up next week. I don't like my wines being sent in warmer months.

Why are prices going up? It's not like there's an inflation blow-out in Australia? I can only justify the purchase ( due free market access to the wines of the world ) when I get a WET & GST refund by taking the abroad.

I plan to pull the cork on my last 86 BP if LFC wins either PL or CL this year... that said, I’d feel more confident with a creative type in midfield..eg Fekir.

Oh, I plan to buy 6 BP

I'm with you Cactus. Whilst last year had plenty of nail biting moments wishing for some defensive reinforcements (Karius tried hard but...) I really enjoyed watching them play and felt quite positive for the future (Salah's wearing the wrong boots at the moment but hopefully that changes). I've only been to matches (a while ago) at Chelsea and West Ham and decided the next must be Anfield as I know others who have also said it's amazing but that will be a long time away :(

As a relatively young Rockford acolyte, I've only had recent vintages starting with the '08 I think but I think the '11 almost put me off the Moppa.

Most of their wines have had a 50c increase each year for as long as I've been buying (7 years?) but the top of the range have upped by a few dollars (however they're a long way from ridiculous increases like the red and black labels we've recently been panning). I've never bothered to follow the prices of other wineries so I don't know whether that's a typical trend or not.

Couldn't agree more Mike. Really missing the Ox or a fit Lallana. Creativity is really lacking. We are still top of the league while playing pretty average.

I normally grab the 6 Basket Press and 6 of the Black Shiraz. But I might pass on the Black Shiraz as I have well over 2 dozen at the moment. I'll probably end up getting some more next time I'm in the Barossa anyway (the wife always insists!). I always get a 6 pack of the Rifle Range as well. Most vintages, I actually prefer the Rifle Range over the Basket Press anyway.

Cheers

I just ordered three cases, nearly two for us and the balance for others. Six RR's, four SLG's, three BPS, MS's and R&S's as well as a pair of each of the Riesling's (still trying to explore our tastes with the Riesling). Biggest order yet
