Re: May - What have you been buying

Been in Margaret River for a few days, so bought a few to drag home with me. Leeuwin Estate Art series Riesling and Cabernet, Cullen 03 Diana Madeline, Saracen Estate Chard, and Clairault Chardy. Bought a few other as well from Woodlands and Driftwood, but they were consumed down there. Plus a few b...

Re: Midweekers Mar 15th to 19th

Had a D'arenberg GSM with my counter meal tonight, not too bad for a 10 buck bottle of wine, would be a great bbq quaffer! Full of nice spicy, cherry notes with a solid but not overpowering alcohol content (14%) and light enough to enjoy without being hardwork, suited my beef and reef pretty well! (...

Aussie producer bemoans bulk wine "dealers"

I was just reading this article; m The basic crux of the story is, and I quote ..."Phil Laffer, Jacob’s Creek chief winemaker, said : “Bulk wine dealers have been trading in wine rather than being winemakers, they have been our downfall and we now have to get rid them. We need to g...

When Fosters sold off the Jamieson's Run Coonawarra winery there was a vertical of every Mildara Coonawarra Cabernet made there (bar one I think).

I had a bottle of 96 of this at a 30th in the middle of last year. Despite being quite messy by the end of the evening, I can still recall that it was a splendid wine which easily could have lasted longer in the cellar. Unfortuanately for me it was my last one.

Drunken - keen to hear how the 05 LLC is tracking. My notes for the 05 LLC were; Quite a closed nose with warm oaky undertones, very hesitant fruit. Palette was thin, short and charry with a lot of cherry fruit and a reasonable tannin structure. Hot finish, almost searing the back of throat. Howeve...
