This Sunday (19/11/2006)from 11am to 5pm is the annual Portavin Touch wine at the Greenhill Road touch football fields. The competition consists of teams from wineries across SA/WA fighting it out for top dog. All proceeds raised on the day will go to the Hutt Street centre to support Adelaide's homeless.
On the day there will be over 100 new release wines for tasting, celebrity footy match (starring Nick Farr-Jones, Mark Bickley, Rachael Sporn, Matthew Primus, and others), Food, live music, Kids town (with Jumping castle, face painting, clowns etc) Auction, Calcutta and more.
Entry is free!!!! but wines payable by the glass!!!

Wineries include;
Angoves, Haselgrove, Serafino, Hardy's Orlando, Banrock Station, Henry's Drive, D'arenberg, Hollick, Kingston Estate, Cape Jaffa, Ballast Stone, Mitolo, Rymill, Reschke, Pikes, Sevenhill, Petaluma, Nepenthe, Torbreck, Murdock, Peter Lehmann, Yalumba, Moss Wood, Draytons, Wirra Wirra, Leconfield, Penny's Hill, Chapel Hill and more!!!!

Be there and help support this great event, or just enjoy the wines!!!

Be a mighty warm day for it! I live just a few minutes walk from there and I recall last time was pretty busy (and hot from memory!) Not sure I'd be keen to be imbibing robust reds but then, that's me... a good cause and a good day though.

Thanks for the support fella's. Just remember if it is too hot there is alway's plenty of cool whites to try. May see you there, unfortunately the boss has put me to work, but only selling wine for a few hours. Drop in and say hi if you like. Will be selling Coonawarra reds and a crispy semillon/Sav Blanc, shouldnt be too hard to find!
