Hmmmm.....
So, I purchased a case of cheapy 2005 'The Merger' through a special offer - the wine was delivered earlier in the week no problems. Upon further inspection though they had coupled together a 6 pack of the '05s and snuck in a 6 pack of '06s in , which to be honest is pretty tough drinking - i didnt realise it was the wrong vintage until after opening.
So, together with the incorrect bottles I have just checked my bank statement and whoalah, there is a charge for the wine on my account twice. How very thoughtful.
I have tried calling the listed number which has been disconnected, and I've emailed today to the three email addresses I could find. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt at this stage, hopefully they can rectify the problems ASAP.
Just a little vent

Re: Murdock Wines
I bought some of their 'Editorial' wine just before xmas. It was delivered heat effected and with ratshit and gooey corks. I had real trouble getting onto them via phone for over 5 weeks. Eventually sent a detailed but polite e-mail explaining that I wanted the wine replaced. I got the impression that they didn't want to replace them. I persisted with the e-mail exchange and I eventually received the question I wanted to read, "would you like us to replace them" - YES. Got the new wines a couple of days later. I sent off the others at my expense.
I used this e-mail address - Manager <manager@murdockwines.com> or try these - barossa@murdockwines.com; info@murdockwines.com; admin@murdockwines.com
Any way the replacements have similarly gooey and sticky corks with a lenghty seam down the side and seemed very moist and soft already (don't know about their longevity) however the wine was very nice and not oxidised or heat effected. A mate also brought around the 04 cabernet (which had no cork issues) which was very impressive.
Good luck, may require some patience but they will get back to you.

Thanks Wiggum,
Fingers are crossed. Seems unfortunate after all the good things i have heard and read about the vineyard.

Re: Murdock Wines
I bought some wines from Murdock over the past couple of months, and had the same problem with the "Editorial" Shiraz Cab..
I had one bottle, leaking, and it drank fine. Could it be fill levels too high ?
I wonder whether they're going out of business, as they told me they'd been robbed many months ago, of all of their electronic equipment at cellar door, but to this day, still don't reply to emails, and faxes to them tend to bounce. No-one answers the phone...etc. I'd have thought that would have got that sorted by now considering how long ago the theft occurred.
The prices they've been offering their wines at are pretty darn low, and it does make me wonder. It'd be a shame if that is the case, as I've grown fond of their wines.

Re: Murdock Wines
Yep, I'm on the same path as previous posters now...
The Editorial 2004 with serious leakage and looks as though they're heat affected. 1st bottle was fine. 2nd bottle was attrocious. Both leakers. Remaining bottles all have dark sticky goop seeping from under their caps. I'm not particularly happy about the condition these wines are in, and am chasing for a replacement. Only a week in...and I've not heard anything...
I've built quite a collection of just about everything they make, so I'm expecting them to help me out...

Sorry to hear cf.
A further update - Since my post the other week I have received no correspondence to emails, or phone calls/voicemails i've left. I've unfortunately had to go down to road of getting in touch with my bank to get the incorrect charge recredited to my account.
I called Balnaves who had/has a relationship with Murdock and they adcised that the owners had left the area and were now in the Barossa.
Not great news as it seems as though everything points to Murdock folding.
Very sad indeed

Apparently according to rumour, this is indeed the case. The company's holdings in Coonawarra are allegedly on the market and the label is being mothballed.
Asleep in a gutter somewhere!
