Also I spose its not really Barrossa fruit. So hows a 97 R.W.T and a magnum of 97 Basket Press. Im still looking for a white. ...

A couple of midweek wines

A bit of rain here in Brisbane cooled things down enough to have a few reds. A bad midweek start with a 98 Cyril Henschke showing a muted nose and dull flavour profile, A completely buggered 93 pennies Kalimna both sink jobs. A 94 Graveyard showed a beautifull nose and subtle flavours. A good wine w...

Nice Notes K.T It was indeed a good night with many wines. I too enjoyed the Lanson and the Balmoral with the Seppelts Show reserve being the suprise wine of the night for me. It showed a quite savoury finish which hit the spot . There were quite a few notes taken so im sure we can expect a write up...

AJ - Got plenty of room under the house but its all on a 15° slope. Consequently have had to lay about 60 bags of 20kg concrete to create a series of 30cm wide steps just to get this far. Modular stuff is thus very appealling. That thing looks nice though - if I ever get a house with a flat...

Re: Tahbilk article by JP

Two weeks ago I did a write-up on Tahbilk, which Ric kindly posted on his Torbwine website. Well you can read the professional one by Jeni Port in today's Epicure (in The Age) - that begins "Tahbilk's subtle changes blend with its history, writes Jeni Port." It's much better written and more inform...

Not as silly as it seems, I did a building job for a retired hardys rep and he pulled out literally dozens of V.Ps from the forties and fiftys most had very low shoulder levels, after a few samples we blended the bottles and surprise, a bloody good drop.
