LOL, sarcasm my friend, its called sarcasm. As to what I'm contributing, well about as much as you are, which if we're both honest probably doesnt amount to all that much. One thing I'm confused on though is what exactly you are going to contact the winery about. You've stated that you presonally ha...

if only they wouldn't "seal" it with tree bark. YAWN Oh please, this whole issue has been so blown out of proportion that it borders on ludicrous Why not just stick it in aluminium cans available in cartons of 24. Then we could all stop using melted sand and why we're at it they should re...

207 will prove to be a shocker for a lot of growers and makers, thats for sure. But calling something "worst vintage ever" is akin to scoring wines, ie no one will ever agree, and its the description that matter more. Will it be worse than 1983 or 1974 (or 1989 even)? How will you compare...

I wouldnt be too worried about this if as you say its only a small amount. Wine can sometimes push around the cork soon after bottling due to residual CO2 from the bottling process, especially if they are laid down straight away. I have this on good authority from several winemakers. :D

2003 Kangarilla Zinfandel (McLaren Vale Fruit) This was just lovely, big, bold and really spicy. Wish I had some more 2003/4 Eagle Vale Sauvignon Blanc Fume I shouldnt be so obsessive with my recycling then I would remember what year it was. Has anyone else had this wine, from Margaret river barrel...

Cellar door preferences

Ive been to quite a few cellar door outlets in several major regions recently and I'm curious what does everyone prefer? a) the ritzy, multi-million dollar affair eg the new Wolf Blass cellar door in Barossa b) the quaint, the wine says it all eg Bowen Estate in Coonawarra or c) the middle of the ro...

And Christo I have a good friend who works in the cellar door at Rockfords, good luck getting on the stonewall list. But if you're nice to me...

I mentioned Stonyfell because thats where I buy my cleanskins from when I host events with my friends. Wine is supposed to be a social drink fo...

cleanskins sources

Most cleanskins are sourced from a variety of producers, so it could be that Dans stuffed up which wine it was. Or maybe it was awine that Brown Brothers never commercially released and sold the enitre line to a cleanskin wholesaler. It happens sometimes with the bigger compnaies.
