Finished the survey too, I wonder if the question "Does the type of closure have any influence on whether you buy a bottle or not?" was included what people's reactions might be.

I use cellartracker, works well. I especially like the links to other community tasting notes of the same wine, so you can see what other people think about the wines in your cellar. Helps sometimes with deciding when to drink certain botlles as they approach their drinking window. Important if you ...

Just a note, Printhie is a great winery and is rated as the only 5 star by halliday but it is a bit out of town and up quiet a long dirt road. I think it's worth it but if you are limited for time you may want to skip it. Also Mayfield and Canabolas Smith are excellent

If you cant afford a wine fridge and need a good solution for ambient temperture storage, use polysterene boxes that fruit shops get there veges in. They are usually happy to get rid of them. Sort your wine into years of drinking dates, that way you don't have to disturb the ones you need to keep fo...

I've had the 02 a couple of times before and a in my younger days enjoyed older vintages, I can't remember which, it probably doesn't matter anyway. Granted I've not had this since the 02, but certainly remember it making more of an impression than your bog-standard $sub15 quaffers. I thought the 0...

As dad isn't a red wine drinker he has let me take it home. Is it ready for drinking now, holding on to or disca...

The Brokenwood Semillion is a light on flavour and probably needs a few years in the cellar, If you are looking for a slightly better one maybe try the 2007 lost block from Tyrrells, same price (sometimes cheaper) and can be found anywhere.
