Bordex Racking and Connectex Clips

Has anyone had any experience in racking with Bordex racks? I can't seem to get my head around the fact that they charge $20 for 4 plastic connector clips (which must cost them 50c to make). These are the clips that you use to put the racks on top of each other (or next to each other). OK, so they c...

Glasses on Sale - Riedel Copies

Even after a good search of the forum I can't seem to find the most recent posting discussing copy Riedels.... They used to be Vue (fine glass) but I seem to recall that these have been discontinued. Can anyone shed some light? Even better if they know if they're on sale in Melbourne at the stocktak...

Heat Ouput of Wine Fridges

Gday all Does anyone have any comment on the heat output of those small (40 or so bottle) wine fridges and small bar fridges? I am considering putting one of each into a purpose built wine cupboard (ie small space) but was wondering if the heat from these units would stuff the temp in the "cell...

2000 Grosset Semillon Sav Blanc - surprsingly ageworthy, gluggaable (Cork)
2004 Pipers Brook Estate Pinot - less green and stalky than the previous time I tried. Acceptable (Screwcap)

TN - Pewsey Vale Contours Riesling 2001

Tried this last night. Strange thing was that like all aged Rieslings I preferred it colder rather than the "optimal" tasting/drinking temperature. Exceptional wine that will hold for many years yet. Starting to develop oily/kero secondary characteristics yet still good acid and primary fr...

Any Suggestions for Wine Courses in Melbourne?

Any ideas as to the best courses around Melbourne?

Someone must have asked this before but a search of the archives reveals nothing.

I seem to remember something about the UK WST courses? Looking for something for a serious amateur.

Cheers in advance

Sounds yum. My credit card just got charged - anyone else? On another note and further to Torb's comment - my wife and I were given a tour of Wendouree by Tony Brady on our honeymoon (Feb 2004). He let us sample from tank and was more talkative than I expected. To top it all off he took us into his ...

Smithy no offence intended. I agree it is a ripper for $10. Good news on the 05's, my tasting pack were delicious.

Ok, sick of being shamed into it by TORB. Some recent wines and brief thoughts. Penfolds Grange 1974 (clinic) Shiraz Had been through Penfolds clinic so levels were all good. Decanted for 30 mins. Fruit still showing but VERY cloudy. Showed cigar box and greatly improved over 1-2 hr in decanter whic...

Couple of quickies 1993 Rockford Basket Press - simply stunning. Much better than a 1996 had earlier this year. 1995 Chateau Musar - A let down. 1978 goes down as the most unique wine tasted. This was nothing special yet. 2004 Horrocks Semillon (?) - Another cracker from an underrated vineyard IMO.
