That 05 St Andrew Riesling is an excellent wine so it doesn't surprise me.

I think Nev can tell you some stories too about German stuff that he left in his fridge that looked bulletproof for ages after opening.

Little Creatures Pale Ale is fairly well distributed so makes for an easy option but the sky is the limit with craft ales.

Shaw & Smith Sauvignon Blanc 2009 good vintage for the label and still drinking well, though the acid does get a bit tiresome after a while. Drink up.

Ordinary these days. I believe they were in serious financial strife only recently. Cheap wines are ok.

I actually find that straw character in Hunter Sem too, usually in the (circa) 1-5 year old riper styles. Brokenwood with a year or two on it is a prime example.

Can't say I'm a fan of the character, but it does seem to dissapate with bottle age.
