This week I had Yalumba Signature 1991, excellent wine, good to drink now, value for money Orlando Centenary Hill 1994, still very powerful, may need to keep for another couple years. Coldstream Hill Reserve PN 1995 & 1996, both are still very enjoyable and personally I like the 95 more. Hard to...

Clarendon Hills, Hickinbotham Grenache, 2001. I have not tried it, but I really do doubt this comes close to a good cdp. I have lost hope with Australian Grenache... it is what it is, but it is not Chateauneuf.... I wouldn't have reccomended it a few years ago but it has really come around. Also it...

Pegau is Southern Rhone, so you're looking at a Grenache Shiraz Mouvedre blend in some proportions. Spinifex is a good suggestion (Indigene, Esprit are the two wines). Also take a look at some of the D'Arenberg grenaches (Custodian, Derelict Vineyard etc). Teusner (Avatar I think?) might also be go...

Is there a budget? Torbreck Les Amis (Grenache) is good but expensive ($200+ AUD), Charles Melton Nine Popes (Shiraz, Grenache, Mourvedre) is around $50 AUD, still good but not as concentrated as the Les Amis. Pegau would be mostly Grenache with Shiraz, Mourvedre and some others. Price is not a mai...

Rosemount Mountain Blue 1995 (Feedback from Rosemount)

Dear Jacques, Thank you for taking the time to contact us at Rosemount Estate. There are a couple of points that could lead to your impressions of the wine. Given that there isn't a fault that you've pointed to in your email, one factor would be the cellaring conditions the wine has experienced and...

Open one 98 vintage few months ago, I would say it is good to drink now if you decent it for at least an hour. I believed it will keep improving in the next few years , however, since you got six bottles, it is not a bad idea to try one now. Then you can compare your own feeling in few years later r...
