Had the 21 Cabernet last week
Way out of balance for my palate
An oaky edge , and even a watery un concentrated edge

Re: April 2024 purchases
Not sure about that re crashing
Though tbh ; I am not sure of auctions, last years were more than double the winery price, circa 320-350 now at least at retail seem to be well over 400 if available

Re: April 2024 purchases
Cheers I can’t believe how quickly they sell out I am cellarer drinker not selling and I got very lucky but I’d imagine so many just buy for the quick dollar. I really wish they’d just allow a mail list to those who have purchase history with them or a bottle of Chardonnay for every other bottle etc...

Re: April 2023 Purchases
Crazy how quickly they sold out… I think Platinum is right re the resale market and what these could end up going for. Cheers Ed Is is a great Beechworth vintage in general ? Not much of a Chardonnay drinker any more, but if it’s the vintage then there are a lot of good winemakers out there. very g...

Re: April 2023 Purchases
Tbh I know it’s expensive but for my personal palate nothing outside of top French gets near it in its best vintages, and many of this cost somewhere between 4-20 times the price Once again just my personal palate, but as you said a couple of 100 points and one from a western Australian biased revie...

Re: Best Australian Chardonnays
Yattarna is the best for my taste , followed by tolpuddle, bindi , yabby lake , pierro and (giaconda which used to be clearly ahead but has dropped off in recent years)

Re: World Cup - any interest?
Wow mixed emotions but what a great win, thats how you get a win when you need one against a team thats ranked ahead of you. Just ashame for 2 red cards in our first 2 games, (even the best teams would take 4 points if they knew they would have to play 2 games with 10 men and have a penalty awarded ...

Re: World Cup - any interest?
Fifa really need to do something about all the playacting that is going on: diving in the box, clutching heads/faces when they haven't been touched, pretending your leg is broken and writhing around on the ground when you have had your ankle clipped in the tackle. It reallly is a blight on the game...

Re: World Cup - any interest?
Penalty was very harsh, there was nothing in it. More Italian acting just like against Australia in the last World Cup. NZ did the Oceania region proud. Kaka send off was a disgrace, if he is outed for even 1 match they really need to look at video refs. Probly realised they made a muck up allowing...

Good performance from NZ to hold them out. Probably very lucky with the offside goal but hey it counted
