Mr Webb! just received clearance to land. Will be there for a short window probably early on :D

Time for an offline with the gathering? Before Mr Breheny heads OS on his honeymoon?

Will sort something out with the usual folk in the coming weeks

Re: Acidity - How are you sensing it?

For me - acid sensation is more a matter of the location in the mouth where the 'feeling' is occurring. eg. the tongue - which part?, the teeth (rieslings in particular ), the gums, the palate of the mouth and so on. Having said that telling TA and pH apart based on the location of those sensations ...

Take it all with a grain of salt :) There's heaps of critics out there!

I find that I tend to look for the notes (some of which are quite hilarious - tastes like "bitumen" anyone? ) rather than the scores.

What about somewhere like Trev's in Dickson? I've been to a couple of wine dinners there and the food was pretty good. Will need to check that they still do corkage though. http://www.trevsatdickson.com.au/menu/dinner/ Is the price range okay or are we talking 'Beijing House' price range DD? Happy t...

Last night was a big one as our last in Beaune A memorable night Glad to hear that you're making the most of it. Fwiw the bests 2010, 12, 13 and 14 were a cut above most of the rest at the recent international Riesling challenge in Canberra. Although not brilliant wines if you saw them on a list you'd be happy that you chose them. On the up for sure...

Good to catch up with the most of the regulators at this event. Top stuff! A lot more hits than misses ( Czech riesling and the 04 Petaluma come to mind) but it was great to calibrate the palate for the 14' vintage. Pikes, Wilson vineyard, some other regulars - riesling freak, bests et al stood out ...

The only non negotiable is making it safe for little people with a proper trap/hatch door.

2011 Yangarra Estate Rousanne Really enjoy this wine having tried a few times. Still quite primary I think. Honeysuckle on the nose is enticing without being overwhelming. Lovely mouth-coating texture, viscous without being oily, delivers a chalky mineral character which lingers...assume it will bu...

Ziliken Rausch Kabinett 2011: ethereal - all lightness and goodness. Well balanced and built for the long haul. One of the Kabinetts of the vintage methinks.

It's been an interesting week with a couple of notables. Marius End Play 2008 : believe the hype! This was really, really good with plenty of gas left in the tank. If you got your hands on the 12's you are very lucky indeed. Alex head Red Shiraz 2013 : kind of finding my palate isn't loving the baro...
