Re: Yarra Yering
Agree with comments on the poor 2011 releases. Have bought a number of vintages in the past but the 2011 tasting in Sydney, whilst really well run, was a total let down. Couldn't find one wine in the line up that I considered buying. Went with a couple of seasoned YY drinkers and view was universal....

Re: Bad experience with vintec. Eurocave or Liebherr?
Hi
My Liebherr is going strong after 6 years and my Kitchener same after 8 years. Kitchener's insulation seems much better and the motor hardly runs for a lot of the year.
Hope this helps

Re: First wine cabinet - Kitchener Peltier 284
Fatboy, My peltier is now 6+ years old and going strong. It's big and chunky, but extremely well insulated (hardly runs for 8 months/year in Sydney) and handles the hot summer well. I have no reservations in recommending them and it would be my preferred choice if I were to buy another. I also have ...

Re: Best sub $20 pinot?
FWIW received the latest Hillcrest Vineyard newsletter and the 2009 Estate Pinot is being cleared out at $20/bottle. This would give the Hoddles ck a good run for its money. Well worth a look.
Cheers

Re: JO site
I just let my (previously extended) subscription run out too. I emailed JO and asked if he was interested in extending my membership (again) until the new site came on line...but he's not taking this approach anymore. This was his reponse: "The new site will commence around March this year. I w...

Re: Recommend a large wine cabinet
Did all the homework on this a few years back. The standout option (from a quality and value perspective) is the Kitchener. I bought a 280-bottle stainless one. Also have a 230-bottle Liebherr (which I got on the cheap), which is a great fridge too, but nowhere near as robust as the Kitchener. As me...

Michael, I have had a Kitchener 380-bottle and a Liebherr 231-bottle for the last few years. Both fridges running with no problems...very happy with both and they amongst the best value (per bottle) on the market. Like the other guys have said, the Kitchener is quite industrial. However, I think it ...
