Re: Zero alcohol wine

Agree with Heaps Normal beer - it’s excellent. I simply enjoy the bitterness and taste of beer so welcome a good zero beer from time to time.

Re: Cellar Arranging - First world problem

I try and arrange by producer and/or country (eg. I have all Italians in one area) and slant towards longer term at bottom and earlier drinking nearer the top (every bit of temperature advantage helps I figure…)

Re: Wendouree 2021 Mailer

On the Shiraz blends the flippers must make fly-buy points only? $57 a bottle with delivery break even nearly $70 at auction to cover commissions. Not much in it? The logic is that most people only want the shiraz, however an order for only shiraz is unlikely to be successful. So people order all t...

6 x Craiglee 2017 Cabernet 6 x Coldstream Hills Deer Farm Pinot 2019 Interesting - did you go for any of the Shiraz as well? Thinking about dipping in for a few of several of the wines in their range... Cabernet was always such a great and cellarable wine. I’ve probably still got some really old on...

I’d pick the 96 389 over the 98!
But neither in the top echelon, I’d expect (although to be fair the 96 389 is quite the dark horse)

I had a bottle of that champagne on the weekend. Ok. A touch on the sweet side but decent enough. Marginally preferred the Mumm NV I tried after it.

Re: Right, what are we/you drinking now .. tonight

wines from Qantas on the way over to LAX from MEL. 2007 Tattinger Comtes de Champagne This marque is absolutely one of my favourites, but the 07 is a relatively weak release, and certainly not a patch on the 02,04 and 06. Seems to me to lack the drive and complexity of the great years. 89pts 2017 P...

Yeah I’ve seen this in the past from my old cellar which was literally a room in the middle of the house underthe kitchen, with no ventilation. I pretty much translate this as “how would I make my cellar better” as I’m pretty happy with it as it is -

Simple answer is more Italian wines.

7% French
3% German

Hoping to cut back the Australian %age a touch over the coming years.

Buy less. Simple. A couple of years of excessive wine spending and it’s time to re-enter a drink > buy phase.
