Re: Is Rockford Basket Press Worth the Fuss?

So I opened an 02 and an 03 BP in the last few weeks. Both superb. Barossa in a bottle. Reckon they'd both go quite a bit longer in the bottle if you wanted to even though the cellar door recommended drinking them soonish (They have to say that don't they?! :) )

Re: Rockford Mailer in

Just a hint to any stonewallers, I quite often call them up and enquire on they're cellar door only stuff such as the VP and any museum wines currently on offer and write that in on the order form in the blank line at the bottom. They invariably include that in my order. Also, has anyone ever been a...

Bought my 6 BP. Wife made me buy 3 bottle of the black Shiraz too. My poor wallet!
On a related note, just opened a Rockford 98 VP for my birthday and it was superb!

Well that explains it, thanks.

Re: Going to Mudgee

Ok, just went a few weeks ago, my favourites would have been: Di Lusso Estate - speak to the winemaker/owner, he knows his stuff and even lets you taste unfinished wines to experience how they're made etc. Spent a good 30min chatting there p.s. Their Moscato is YUM! Logans Wines - Nice wine, cheese ...

I've always preferred Blackwell over almost all Penfolds wines. I’m not a very big fan of Penfolds.

Re: TN: AFWAC - The Annual Rockford Review 28/11/11

Craig, Thanks for the Info. I'm going to the Barossa in May for the Black Magnum Golf Day, so hopefully there will be some '04 left then. I might have got my wires crossed with the '04, but I missed out by only a few weeks on the '02 and to be frank, it gave me the s#^%s. I've only got '00, '01 &am...

Re: TN: AFWAC - The Annual Rockford Review 28/11/11

A good read, makes me want to re-visit. (Bit hard from Sydney) I always try to tack in a bottle of VP in my annual Rockford order and they've never refused yet even though it's not on the order form.

Rockford time of year again.......(2011 version)

So my order of Rockford turned up at the Post Office yesterday..... http://pics.houseman.id.au/Other/Android-Uploads/i-bznTcgR/0/S/IMAG0324-S.jpg Haven't opened any yet, but did have a very nice 2004 Rod and Spur the other night. Anyone else had theirs arrive yet and had a chance to partake? Thought...

Re: Sydney Offline - BYO Rockford's Dinner 20th Aug - ROCKET

Any chance of this actually happening any time soonish? I'm only new to the forum and have only been collecting wines for the past several years as $$$ permits but I have been a huge fan of Rockford since I went to one of their "Lunches" that they hold. A truly great experience. I'm sure I...

Anyone know when Rockford release is due?
Oh my Virgin Wines case of easy drinking rubbish arrived the other day. I do like the Bentwing wine from that so far. Anyone else tried Virgin Wines?

Re: Sep '11 purchases - what's new?

Just had 6 Petaluma Coonawarra 2003's turn up at the door.

What should I expect from this wine? Drink soon or cellar for another 10+ years?

Never tried it before, bought it on a whim.

Thanks,

T.

Mark, typo on your front page:

The August wine auction has now closed, but you can download a catalouge to see what wines we had on offer.

Re: Trying to use Langtons for the first time.... Any advice

They also offered me free membership when I didn't renew and also today in the post received a $200 off a case of wine and free $50 wine glasses offer if I used their new brokerage service. I then phoned them up to take up the offer and finally got suckered into a 6 pack of Petaluma Coonawarra 2003....
