alan, well i agree with jamie the prices were good relative to the exchange rate, especially earlier this year when the $A was at record high. i have noticed in the last 2 months when the new stocks arrived they are priced around 10-15% higher. but then it still looks cheap because the $A has gone u...

hello gentlemen, went back to my notes from last year and recalled the 02 has great fruit purity but also some pretty aggressive tannin as well. bought a couple of the 01 later and was too scared to try it, thinking it might another tannic monster now it looks that the 01 is of more elegant style an...

hello wizz, i had the 98 a couple of months ago and i tend to agree with your impression. my notes at the time: "ink purple. berry sweet fruit on nose. Full body sweet with gripping tannin. Blackcurrant, just a touch of mocha. Lots of spice as well. Again a difficult food match [mainly because of th...

that's just terrible! with the soaring aussie dollar everything seems cheap when bought from overseas....i was going to say the vintec 160 also costs around A$1600 here.

nobody has changed the price in the shops: oz, hk or singapore....it's just the $A going thru the roof!

hi craig, if money was no object i feel the 98 terraces is another level up from the 98 coleraine. it has that extra bit of intensity and complexity. of coz it was never going to be twice as good! one would be lucky to get another 10% of quality (if quality can be gauged) when you go from the $50 pr...

G'Day Ed. I take your point about the good things of your normal explosive SB's - however I'd defend the Te Koko as I enjoyed it a lot and I thought it was more than just vanilla oak - I found it a good food wine which for me is important in enjoying a wine - it had lovely acidity for example . 2001 Cloudy Bay Te Koko Sauvignon Blanc : Those who LIKE Sauvignon Blanc should try this - main hurdle is paying $40 for a SB I guess. Colour is more yellow than a normal SB. hi sue and steve I don't think it's fair to compare between the 2 groups of wines. They are worlds apart in terms of style.
