consumed half bottle last thursday. splited the remaining half and put into two 180ml screwcap bottles, filled to the top.
TN on thursday: Quite deep purple, shiraz-like colour. Cured meat, cinnamon nose, savoury interlaced underlying cherry sweetness. excellent complexity with smooth tannin backbone. should have enough substance to develop more seconadary characteristics.
the first of the two quarter bottles was drunk 2 nights later on saturday: nothing exciting. "Duh" as i thought it was fading away.
the other quarter bottle was almost forgotten until tonight (6 days later) and goodness gracious it had developed this most amazing intense rose petal bouquet. The last time i encountered bouquet this powerful was a 97 DRC st vivant. It has lost its savoury/smoky edge, but the fruit was still there with more cherry sweetness, with just a faint hint of prune. NO sign of it going flat at all and the tannin still holding well. Not too sure if it has more room for further development but at this stage that seems good enough for me.
