Jenise, a good list with some interesting wines.

I'd try the Magpie, Kilikanoon and Ross, all wines I've had in the past and enjoyed although I can't remember specifics about them.
Cheers - Steve

Agree about the Magpie.

Penfolds has a good one.

Jenise,

The 2001 Yalumba Tricentenary Vines was a very pleasant surprise for me. Consider giving it a shot, especialy if you are concerned about overipe and jammy features. It's just a hop and a skip accross the border @ $43.00cdn.

Cheers,

Francois

Hi Jenise,

First, you state that you tend to dislike jammy, overripe flavors. If this is so, I recommend you don't bother buying Australian Grenache. Unless you have a fair bit of money to spend experimenting with Australian Grenache, look elsewhere.

Having stated that, I hate jammy, overripe flavours and in general dislike Australian Grenache. However, I had the 2003 Greenock Cornerstone last week and enjoyed it very much, although not $US60 worth of enjoyment. It is in "sweeter" style, but these flavours were very well restrained by excellent winemaking.

Kind regards,
Adair
