First, you state that you tend to dislike jammy, overripe flavors. If this is so, I recommend you don't bother buying Australian Grenache. Unless you have a fair bit of money to spend experimenting with Australian Grenache, look elsewhere.
Having stated that, I hate jammy, overripe flavours and in general dislike Australian Grenache. However, I had the 2003 Greenock Cornerstone last week and enjoyed it very much, although not $US60 worth of enjoyment. It is in "sweeter" style, but these flavours were very well restrained by excellent winemaking.
