I can't believe how dry it is in the Barossa. I've never seen Tanunda Pines Golf Course looking so desperately in need of water, it's a dust bowl. Such a shame as it's normally in great condition. Most winemakers I spoke to are very happy with the quality of the '25 vintage, just not so happy with the quantity. If they don't get rain this winter, the '26 vintage will be a real struggle for those without access to water.

Yes, we bought some grapes from the Valley, well, technically Eden Valley. Many growers without a water supply, really struggled, plus some early Frost problems. Luckily our grower had full access to water, and so the crop/grapes were in excellent condition.

So, you are very accurate, with water really good quality grapes, without water, quite problematic perhaps.

Perhaps Albo can grow a pair and give AUKUS the flick and put in some decent infrastructure to drought proof the country.
A metre of rain in 72 hours in NSW (double SA's yearly total), largely running out to sea, when capturing a bit of it might be a good idea.

Of course there would be no votes in that would there?

Oh, and what about Cubby Station, with it's 460 GL dams. When they start pumping out of the river, it actually flows backwards!

The greatest naval build-up in history, which we recently had a taste of with a CCP surface action group circumnavigating Australia, and you want to get rid of AUKUS?

Get rid of the Yanks, and opt for armed neutrality, we will need to spend 3x on defence versus riding our security off the back of the US. Too many Aussies have their hands out to gov for an expensive defence option.

Oh back on track. No wine for a few weeks now. Just cracked a Gladstones 2020 Cab in Detroit. $35 is a bargain for a very solid Cabernet. It’s been around the world in a suitcase the last week, drinking well out of a water glass in a hotel room on the interstate
