I've found the thread pretty offensive because my young daughter is Chinese and this is the shit I've got to talk to her about as she nears her 10th birthday.

If you can ramble on about a $20 wine for a paragraph or two on a wine forum, I'm sure the topic of nouveau riche in mainland China and fine wine can be discussed more delicately and knowledgeably than to stereotype a race of people who have integrated into many different cultures around the globe.

On a serious note, not sure why Chris said that. I assumed he must have been drinking. Totally out of order.

There are many Chinese-Australians who drink fine wine and quite a few on here. Nobody agreed with him, though. I hope people haven't been too upset about it at what should be a happy time of the year.
