Righto....Rocket Restaurant, cnr Help and Railway Sts, Chatswood. Booking from 6.30pm, in the partitioned off end room so we can make more noise - hear that Adair!! Two tables booked, one for the original ten people who nominated, and another for what looks like about six, but that can grow a bit if needed.

Don't forget the Burgundy vs. New World theme, which encapsulates chardonnay as well as pinot. As there are two tables, each table will run their own tastings as they like. Perhaps some blind matchings which can be worked out on the night.

First table is Hacker, Dave Vino, Michael R, TiggerK, Danny, ufo, Monghead, Adair, Polymer, Mivvy.
I think the second table looks like Markg, Markg's friend, Carl, 9redpens, and Andy.L. Have I forgotten anyone? More are welcome! Just post below....

Thank you David, looking forward to this Friday night, and meeting you all . Just wandering though, will the night start at 6.30 pm sharp? Since I finish work at 6 pm, and most likely will be there before 7 pm. Otherwise, I will need to arrange to leave work earlier, please let me know.

Also, with the theme of Burgundy ( is 2nd table also doing this?), I've just begun my journey last year, and in the cellar, earliest vintage I've is '08 ( may or may not be in dumb phase at the moment), will this be ok? Otherwise, will be more than happy to bring '10 vintage. I do realise the 5 years bottle age requirement.

Andy, no hard and fast rules here. Most people will be there by 6.30, but if you get there late, no problem. I am hoping the second table is also following the theme, but it is up to those participants. As regards the age of the burgundy, '08 or '10 what ever you want to bring. I'm sure there will be a younger New World pinot it can be put up against.

I'll keep in theme on the second table. An older red and a young white. Very nervous about cellaring White Burgundies beyond 5 years and don't have any older Aussie chardonnays sadly.

I'm also staying nearby at Mantra if anyone needs to stash luggage/freshen up/quick change of clothes/might even have a cheeky Pinot beforehand.

Suggest we bring our own glassware if possible. They have OK glasses, but from memory they're mostly Bordeaux style, and either way, wanting 2 or 3 each will be pushing it, so if most of us bring our own, all the better.

Can I also suggest people try and bring cash, nothing worse than the 10 credit cards coming out at the end of the night.

I have arranged 1 white and 2 red glasses each, but as mentioned they are more the Bordeaux style. So please bring your own if you wish.
