Yes, have had a few bottles of the Bin90A over the last 8-10 years and it has been great.

Already have a couple of bottles of the Block42 but haven't touched them yet. Only experience with the wine was a tutored tasting with Peter Gago and 100 others about 10 years ago and I reckon it was one of the best Cabernets I have ever tasted. Look forward to tasting more. Love the Penfolds special bin reds actually. Have some 04 Bin60A and must get some 04 Block 42

They're obviously not cheap, but all 4 are great wines. I prefer the 1990 Bin 90a to the 2004 Bin 60a, and the 2004 Block 42 to the 1996.

Cheers

Yes, I think I will pass on the Ampoules of the 04 Block 42, the normal bottles will be fine

That's an impressive list of cognac (well, not so much so Grand Marnier liqueur) but when are you going shopping for scotch whisky? Look forward to your foray into that spirit...............

well, those Grand Mariner were the 100 years and 150 years limited release which I bought direct from Cognac (online).
In terms of whisky, Locally Langtons, Kemenys, winelist Australia, Nicks, whisky exchange from UK and some duty free shops around the world, some good bargain
in taiwan DFS.
What is your favourite single malt and blend ones?

Well, I've not bought beyond $100 so my experience doesn't include whiskies of great age and my experience of scotch, although I've tried to taste quite a few, is probably relatively limited. The single malts that I've found particularly memorable have been Lagavulin 16yo, Glenfarclas 15yo (it came in a pack with minatures of the 21 and 25yo, preferred one but can't remember which) and Talisker 10yo. I've also enjoyed Bowmore Legend and Laphroaig 10yo. I had a period of buying a number of different single malts which included the Talisker, Lagavulin, and Glenfarclas 10yo (the latter probably the reason I bought the 15yo) amongst others, one of which was memorable because it was very ordinary, think it had a connection to J&B - only ever bought one bottle of it so it is indeed not just rare around here, it's extinct. The Wine Society used to have a vatted/blended malt that I enjoyed and bought regularly until it was discontinued. Favourite blended would be Dimple 15yo, the 12yo definitely a class below. Teachers is a favourite as well in the lower price range. Monkey Shoulder is currently my favourite vatted malt, even though I'm not a fan of bourbon. I've tried Hankey Bannister vatted malt but wasn't impressed. The Glenlivet 12yo is my favourite entry-level single malt. But you asked what is my favourite single malt? Lagavulin 16yo.

Daz thank you for your heads up, since the weather is warming up Cognac is a bit out for the season.
I have some entry level single malt like the Glenmorangie 10 yo and Glenfiddich 12 yo.
Today I found a blended malt Famous Grouse 18 yo plus another entry level single malt Glenlivet 12 yo which I rather enjoy the sweet yet aromatic of the Glenlivet, don't fancy too strong peaty Islay types.
Certainly will look out for the Lagavulin 16 yo. Yesterday I ordered a bottle of Glenfarclas 30 yo from whisky exchange for around $120.
I still think the 18 yo, 21 yo and 30 yo the pricing gap is far too vast, mainly is much less demand and marketing cost, certainly not worth that much more for the difference in quality.
Until next time happy holidays.
Cheers

Been looking at malts at 1st Choice for a bottle to share at Christmas. Lagavulin 16yo was $90 and Caol Ila, think it was a 12yo, (never tried any from this distiller so it was a serious contender) was $80 a day or two ago. But today is the specials change day and the former is back to $112 and the latter to $88 - bugger! Both are Islay drams and the Caol Ila is supposed to be a less robust example so may be more to your taste. Balvenie Single Cask is reduced to $110 or thereabouts but not sure I want to spend quite that much.

Cheers
