Re: Wendouree Drinking Windows
Hi Rick, Long time. Great to hear from you. Just sent you an email. As I emailed, 2005 and 2006 are excellent years, while 2001 was a hot year. That said, every time I open a 2001, I am surprise how young they are. See here for tasting notes of a few of the 2001s: http://forum.auswine.com.au/viewtop...

Eight years later and I am as pleased with this wine as I was back then. Similar fruit flavours but just slightly brûléed and honeyed. The acid is what sets this wine apart, then and now. The rich, deep flavours are still impeccably balanced by fresh ripe pineapple and white mineral/flinty aci...

Re: Sydney Offline - Wonderful Wendouree Friday 12th Septemb
Thanks Tim for fantastic write-up, and the dinner presentation/pamphlet. Nothing I significantly disagree with Just a few comments to add: • I believe an evening of Wendouree wines doesn’t help show why Wendouree is so great, because we compare them to each other rather than seeing the ...

Hi all, I have never bought any Wendouree wines before (only received Shiraz/Malbec and Shiraz/Mataro 12' from this mailer), I wish I had some 10+ years back vintages so that I could join you guys for the dinner. Michael What Michael is saying is that he is willing to bring a bottle of DRC along wi...

Yes, I am attending with a 2003 Wendouree Shiraz plus something else. Open it in the morning! Last offline I brought the same, and it needed all the air it could get. Thanks catchnrelease. I am a fan of the Audouze method of decanting, so I will start this in the morning... means I get a morning ta...

Re: Sydney Offline - Wonderful Wendouree Friday 12th Septemb
I am in... of course!
I would like to bring a Wendouree (something at least 10 years old) and a non-Wendouree red as a good comparison, if that is okay... probably a 199X Rockford SVS... just because I know that Baby Chickpea loves them.

Re: Old World vs. New World Pinot Sydney Offline.
Only problem is the pours with 16-20 people you are in magnum territory. Not sure how 2 tables would work if not magnums, do you just drink the wines of your table? As 16-20 people on a single 750ml bottle wouldn't be worth it to be honest. Agreed. I would like to taste my wine... I only bought in ...

FWIW, I was impressed with the stemware at Ripples Milsons Point. Also, the location was good for those on the North and South sides.
I will find it hard to resist a Pinot Noir night, as long as it is not a Saturday or Sunday, and especially with an aged Clos de Beze on the table!

2004 is an absolutely fantastic year for the Tahbilk Marsanne based on my tastings on release. It is also the birth year of my first born, so I stocked up too, but I also have one on the fridge ready to be tasted now. Didn't get any magnums though. Thanks for the note. Adair

Thank you.
Danny sent me pictures of the 1961 Latour a Pomerol, 1929 Henri De Bahezre Romanee St Vivant and 1950 Petrus... as an early Monday morning torment!
FWIW, he had the 1950 as 1 and the 1961 as 2... with words like "heavenly" and "as good as it gets".

Done.
For what it is worth, i typically find white wines to have a different set of minerals to red wines, although they do overlap.
