A hearty monster of a wine and whilst impressive, did not show much in the way of regional character. Tasty to the last but hardly memorable.

You should try The Savitar from the same vintage

Hey, Wayno, what about your avatar?

It reminds me of the posters in some old butcher shops showing the different cuts of meat - but would you do that with a dog?

...hey, you are not Korean by any chance?...

Nautilus 2007 pinot from Nicks around $34.99 was excellent - I just had to go back for a second 6-pack. They rate it at 98 points.....

Hey, Wayno, this is one of my favourites (albeit 2001 & 2003 vintages)! There are only a few places I have been able to score a few bottles of this from in Melbourne....may I ask where you procure yours from?

Like all mechanical things they occasionally need maintenance/replacement of parts. This is an extract from their Australian website: 1) How do I know when to replace the screw on a Screwpull Lever model? After opening approximately 2000 bottles, the Lever Model may show signs of wear, making the Le...

Thank you for the link to your project. I am contemplating something similar (probably without the lift though) in the next 12 months in another part of Melbourne.

Seppelt Show Sparkling Shiraz from 1994 was amazing. Very different to the Original. Unfortunately, most of my bottles seem Brett affected and it was around $45 mark.

Just out of curiosity why 5:43 pm? As opposed to 5:44pm for instance?

My guess would be 287.

Overt what sort of time period did you manage to fill this jar, though? That info would improve the accuracy of my guess significantly!

Pirathon Shiraz 2005 question

Hi, all. I have a question which some of you may be able to shed some light on and settle an argument. I have just tasted a bottle of 2005 Kalleske Pirathon Shiraz (or to be correct Pirathon by Kalleske) and my tastebuds tell me there is a hint of grenache in there. It is not mentioned on the label ...

Just out of curiosity, what is the problem with spambots registering user names on this forum?
What harm can they do?
Do they post spam messages or something?

Having looked into wine storage alternatives recently, I have bought a number of books on this subject, including Tyson Stelzer's. The best by far has been: "How and Why to Build a Wine Cellar" by Richard M. Gold (4th edition). I bought it from Amazon - highly recommend! In the end, I opte...
