Kris,

If you get a chance, could you ask her where she bought it? I've wanted to try a SS, but haven't ever seen it in any of our stores.

Thanks!

Spot on Ian S, Price is the primary problem. Not quality. US wines are just so expensive in Australia they are difficult to sell. If you can't sell them you won't import them. The cheap stuff is often know where near the quality of an Aussie priced the same. Billy B That's a shame. There are many g...

RE: Your top wines from 2006 - Not one from the USA

I just skimmed through the other post on your top wines from 2006, and if I'm not mistaken, there is not one wine from the USA on anyone's list. Thus the following questions: 1) Are many top American wines available in Australia? 2) If so, do any of you drink them? 3) If you do drink them, are you j...

Help - 2002 Mast Rare Reserve Block Shiraz???

Does anyone have information regarding this wine, made by Trevor Mast of Mt. Langi Ghiran? Supposedly a one-time only "reserve" wine precipitated by perfect weather leading to a great block of grapes?

Thanks!

Well....maybe....or maybe not. But, Ollie, if you're so interested, why don't you subscribe? Agree about subscribing. If you take wholesale chunks of work and publish them (like say 5o scores), then its a breach of copyright, but if someone asks what a few wines scored, then its a different matter....

That's called a breach of copyright.

MY preference would be beer. However, if forced to choose wine, I would go with a riesling or a rose.

Tasting note - served blind in a linup of Au shiraz - which gives it context. Mount Langi Ghiran 2003 Very rich and ripe. Blackberry, licorice and pepper. Quite porty. Spicy with high alcohol and soft tannins. Very spicy finish. Voluptuous but too much alcohol showing. 92 Points Wow, that's not lik...

Just took delivery of three bottles, which I bought blind based on some pretty stellar reviews, and my love of past vintages. Has anyone tried this one yet?

Mike, Happy to hear about your experience with Cayuse. Here I am in Washington, and I've yet to get my hands on a bottle yet. However, I have had quite a few wines from K Vintners, who pull some fruit off of Christophe's (Cayuse) vineyards. In particular, I've really liked the Morrison Lane Syrah, a...

What I found interesting about the Amon-Ra review is this: The Godolphin, which is a shiraz and cab blend, was scored 96-98. Most people who have tasted it have commented that they did not perceive the influence of the cabernet in the wine. Rather, that it was dominated by the shiraz component. But ...

TN: 2002 Tin Shed Barossa "Three Vines"

40% Mourvedre, 30% Grenache, 30% Shiraz - 14.5% Alc The nose offers aromas of lead pencil, black pepper, olive, and red fruits. On the palate there is an abundance of juicy black cherry, raspberry, and kirsch, as well as some savory herbs and black pepper. The wine is nicely balanced, with good acid...

I don't ever see these here in the States. Are they ...
