I would never guess this wine was 75% Cab Franc and 25% Cab Savignion and Merlot. And why is that, Serge? I know you might say that I am not Parker... No, we'd never say that, Serge. You're the master of making something out of nothing, even if you do it while bumping off one wall after another.

sung like a canary after being decanted for 45 mins. Mature, vibrant fruit, integrated tanins, and if I was Solomon, I'd write "Song of Songs", Part Deux. We HAD to open it today, just to erudicate all the unpleasantness of Rosenblum Zin.... Your brief notes make the Gazin sound inviting, but again...

Posting of the year so far. 9.5/10 losing 1/2 mark for 'brocaid' mispelling. The sentence, the sentiments, the meter, the metier: just magic! Thanks Neville, but according to my Websters Dictionary, I spelled it correctly. Same with my MS Word Spell Check. Still, glad you like the sentiments expres...

I'm a firm believer in decanting, no matter what the age of the wine. If it's old enough to throw any sediment at all, the reason is clear enough. Even if it's a younger wine, aeration will be benificial, whether you decant and pour right away, or decant and let it air for an hour or four. Air usual...

Marquis Phillips is the worst example of overoaked, over-extracted, excessively high alcohol wines that I've had the misfortune to gag down (in the spirit of polite company), anytime, anywhere. My favorite line from this article is Market forces aren't known for encouraging individuality — Velveeta sells better than Taleggio. I've had Velveeta in a previous life and it's not very good. Fortunately Renou's proposed split of the AOC won't affect the good stuff. You'll still need ...
