very true Roger - I remember being asked by penfolds should grange be cork or screwtop and thinking "sacrilege" but now after a few too many corked wines I think all wines should be!!!

2002 Penfolds

I read with interest the articles on the “2002 Penfolds - BIN 389” and problems probably associated with corkage. Today I noticed 2002 Grange on special at $399 and wondered if Penfolds had an issue with faulty corks could it extend that far? I thought of buying a couple at that price bu...

Hi Neel,
it is on the Mornington Peninsula - about 3miles to the closest winery, I figure I have the best of both worlds.

Weekend Quaffers etc

'03 McLeans Farm Trinity Corner Shiraz
A bright plum color with a clean plum aroma. Rich full taste and has a good structure for an under $20 wine. It could still do with a little time to develop.
Very nice

Wine scores reflecting potential

I must agree with Gary in as much as score wise it must reflect potential; however I would expect a taster to make a note that a given wine would not be ready for drinking for x years if it is not drinkable now.

Trinity Corner Shiraz

Mc Lean’s Farm 2003 Trinity Corner Shiraz. Not a heavy wine but well balanced. A blend of oak and fine tannins suggest this wine still has a year or two potential, but drinking well now. - It was enjoyed enough that I went and bought another couple of cases to put down for a year or two. - T...

What Makes You Buy A Wine - the inexperienced perspective

I am curious how people chose wines before they established a palate for wines of their liking. I guess for me I drank enough red wine “the good the bad and the ugly” to appreciate the good; however, I struggle to give guidance to others starting out drinking wine and trying to build up ...

I am intending to fit a cooler/heater; however, I know little about them, including what is available. the cellar is about 43m-3 and at this stage I am looking at the Fondis C50. Can anyone offer any advice on t...
