Found a leaking 1995 Lovedale in the cellar, put it in the fridge.
The next day the cork came out so easy I was expecting the worst.
Turned out to be the best white I have had this year.
A great semillon.

I would like to make it but am Sydney bound. It would be good to have the 2000 Grange up against some other vintages of Grange. At the release of a new Grange vintage I used to go each year to a tasting where the new release would be up against the previous two vintages. It was always a good exercis...

The 95 interests me as it has been given a low 88.
JO originally rated it low with an early drinking window but in latest editions has increased the rating significantly and pushed the drinking window right out.

Purchased some of the 2004 Petaluma Coonawarra, very nice wine.
I have all vintages back to 1995 excluding 2003.
Never seen a 2003 Petaluma Coonawarra, was one released?

Adair, Even chasing 258 I still thought the 3rd's could do it. The selected side had a combined average of about 340 odd. The problem was for one of the few times this year a partnership did not develop. May be the Jones runout was a turning point. Pic needed someone to hang around. I have had a few...

Adair,
Gordon 3RD Grade ?
I am also a member of the club
Been watching all matches out of Chatswood this year.
If it is Gordon it never twigged that the fast bowler I have been watching is the Adair of Auswine.

I had a 1986 John Riddoch a few months back after I saw it at $50.00 at a local bottle shop. I agree with your TN I am only sorry I did not buy the other two remaining John Riddoch 86.
When I went back the next day they were gone.
I have some 86 707 but am yet to try.

In regards to the 1995 Grange Jeremy Oliver's first rating has been increased out to 95 and his drinking window out from a start of 1997 in a earlier edition to I think 2015 in the 2006 edition. So this vintage must be doing something. I have tried it about four times and quite liked. I have a few b...

I also do not like the current format of the PWG. I preferred it when you could go to say the red section and find all the red wines pertaining to the maker under the one listing. I have all the PWG published and it is interesting to read the initial review when you open an old bottle as I did with ...

Called in to the local bottle shop on the way home Friday to find a new addition to the museum section, two bottles of 1986 Wynns John Riddoch selling for $55.00 each. At that price had to give it try. Opened Saturday, the cork disintegrated but a lovely old wine. Dark brick red , developed bouquet ...

Grange

I have tasted Grange on many occasions but always at invited tasting sessions. I have never opened a bottle of my own Grange. In my cellar I have some 1986 and 1995 and intend to open probably a 86 soon. My question is how long do I open before serving? What is the correct procedure? Regards, Ron.

Would like to expand outside Australian wines but I am afraid my budget could not afford it.
I spend far to much on Oz wines as it is.
I taste other than Oz when I can but so far have resisted buying.
I do but NZ though.

I voted Australian as I do not think my wallet could take the impact of adding outside Oz wines to my cellar.
I find I am spending more and more on wines and do not want any external temptations.
Besides I am still going through my Oz wines learnig curve.

Cooking with Wine

Can anyone please tell me when cooking with wine if the quality of the wine used makes a difference to the end result. There is a recipe I am going to try which calls for a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon, marinade overnight and slow cook for four hours. At the end you have the obvious wine reduction b...
