Re: Adelaide Hills Cellar Door Recommendations
the CD at K1 by Geoff Hardy is lovely. some great wine, and you can bring your own picnic, buy a bottle and sit and enjoy overlooking their lake/pond.

matt and I are in - i think ian might have had us down as a mystery 2? i have asked a friend - finalising his (and his wife's) interest. everything looks red so far, so i might bring white. probably won't be a magnum, but there will be a twin pair so plenty for all. Matt of course will be on the bee...

Will bring a bottle of bubbles to start, and old (70s?) riesling and maybe something for the dessert.

Last Friday I tried my first straight Grenache, the 2004 Cirillo 1850 Old Vine Grenache with some friends. We were all quite surprised how nice it was and it has inspired us to try a few more straight Grenache wines. Good luck Regards Dazza I bought 4 of these a number of years ago and opened one f...

Seppelt 'Aerin's Vineyard' Mornington Pinot Grigio 2008 A truly unforgettable wine for all the wrong reasons. The wine list omitted the 'seppelt' from the front of the name, so that was interesting when I googled it online. It was bitter, a bizarre texture and mouthfeel, and generally awful. Didn't ...

Based on Ian's list, we seem to be short on bubbles so will bring something in that vein also to start. maybe a clover hill.
I also have a nice Albarino I picked up from the east end new varietals tasting that I really liked so probably will bring that also for starters

I've always had it aged - is it recommended when young? How do the desirable characteristics change depending on whe...

Re: What are drinking with what for Xmas Day/Night?
Doesn't look like any serious wine dinners for Christmas this year, so I think it will be easy going stuff for the festivities. Thoughts include: - oodles of Wirra Moscato - some dependable rieslings eg. Leo Buring, Petaluma, Helm - a few delectable pinots eg. Hoddles, Kooyong - a smattering of age...

The BoF Trigress would be one I'd seriously consider as well, given the reputation of the Arras. Agree with the Jansz definitely. Don't rate the tigress though. like comparing oranges with rocks. also like the Bird in hand which has a pink tinge (and is the wimbledon sparkler) Clover hill is brilli...

gosh i guess my first real defining moment was at my 21st when we had a 96 Dorrien Cab Sav.
