Yes a great wine and a classic.
But needs to be consumed in the next couple of years unless its a Magnum !
I have tried the Centenary on at least 3 occasions in the last two years.

Blacktongues 11/10/06 Cab and Blends
Ian will give full notes.
But I thought the 04 Greenock Creek Cab was full of Brett. !!!
And the 04 Majella Cab was an absolute stand out.
Cheers Martin

On Friday night our little wine group of 7, I call the Boys. Had dinner at one of our members homes as it was his turn to do a once a year presentation and we had to guess the theme. 1986 Hill of Grace , my 3rd the group rating was 1st. 1990 Wendouree Shiraz , everyone rated this last. 1986 Grange ,...

2004 Mamra Brook Cab
This wine went down way too easy. Dark and broading, beautiful fruit, silky and some lovely tanins. These wines need a month or two to settle down and show their true potential. I believe it could be just as good if not better than the 02. And by the way how could Winestate give the 03 best Cab in A...

Hello Ian I did not reply earlier because I wanted to try the Schild sparkling red on its own first. And it does not stack up to say the 02 Seppelt white lable and I have had the white lable Seppelt 08 and 09 recently and they where well above there class. For me the best sparkling red this Summer i...

Thanks for the great notes Brucer. You don't need scores to tell the real story about a wine. Had the 94 Jack Mann last week and it started off well but fell apart, a bad bottle I think. The Ulithorne 01 in my view is there best , but all great wines. The Bullers Calliope, tried recently, found a to...

Rockford Black Shiraz
I would first like to say that I am one of Rockords Wines biggest Fans. But a question. In the latest Rockford Rag, Robert O'Callaghan stated, " People have rung to say that some of their old Black Shiraz have weeping corks" From bottles I have tried and what I have heard on this forum. This wine ne...

Thanks Ian I opened the bottle 3 hours before I tasted and there was absoluteley no hint of TCA and the wine had no fruit no tanins nothing. As "Steve" said the cork was white which would mean the wine has just been bottled !! The question is was this the same as the Adelaide Show Wine ? Cheers Martin

04 Quartage
Just tried the 04 Shot Fire Ridge Quartage I really don't think it was a bad bottle. But I would rate it as barely drinkable. The nose shows some vanilla but no fruit ! On the palate it is flat and tasteless no length at all , if this is the Adelaide Show wine then it should not have even got a Bron...

I am not a white drinker, but. 96 Wilson Polish Hill Riesling had this a couple of weeks ago, lovely wine starting to show some age but still crisp and clean citris flavours. 98 Wilson Polish Hill I took this to a blind tasting of any whites 99 or older and it came first in front of very good chardo...

Im just interested to see if anyone else has tried this wine. I had a look at it over the last two nights and was very impressed. Dark red to black in colour, rich dark and juicy fruits. With balance and a very long after taste. Its smooth and very easy to drink. After 24 hours it just slid down the...

Hello Wizz Sorry I did not like the Partaringa Over The Top Shiraz 01, I found it over the top with charry oak. But I think the 01 K1 Shiraz is very good. I quiet liked the 01 Serafinos but have found there previous vintages all over the place, looking forward to Serafino 02!! When you say Old Barn ...

Not long ago I said ,I will be trying as many 2002 reds as possible. My most recent ones are disappointing. Rockbare McV Shiraz no fruit just oak!! Taylors Shiraz all charry oak yuk!! Shotfire Ridge lots of oak but some fruit. Why dont these wine makers let some fruit thru?? I have also found this w...
