Yes a great wine and a classic.

But needs to be consumed in the next couple of years unless its a Magnum !

I have tried the Centenary on at least 3 occasions in the last two years.

Blacktongues 11/10/06 Cab and Blends

Ian will give full notes.

But I thought the 04 Greenock Creek Cab was full of Brett. !!!

And the 04 Majella Cab was an absolute stand out.

On Friday night our little wine group of 7, I call the Boys. Had dinner at one of our members homes as it was his turn to do a once a year presentation and we had to guess the theme. 1986 Hill of Grace , my 3rd the group rating was 1st. 1990 Wendouree Shiraz , everyone rated this last. 1986 Grange ,...

2004 Mamra Brook Cab

This wine went down way too easy. Dark and broading, beautiful fruit, silky and some lovely tanins. These wines need a month or two to settle down and show their true potential. I believe it could be just as good if not better than the 02. And by the way how could Winestate give the 03 best Cab in A...

Thanks for the great notes Brucer. You don't need scores to tell the real story about a wine. Had the 94 Jack Mann last week and it started off well but fell apart, a bad bottle I think. The Ulithorne 01 in my view is there best , but all great wines. The Bullers Calliope, tried recently, found a to...

Rockford Black Shiraz

I would first like to say that I am one of Rockords Wines biggest Fans. But a question. In the latest Rockford Rag, Robert O'Callaghan stated, " People have rung to say that some of their old Black Shiraz have weeping corks" From bottles I have tried and what I have heard on this forum. This wine ne...

Thanks Ian I opened the bottle 3 hours before I tasted and there was absoluteley no hint of TCA and the wine had no fruit no tanins nothing. As "Steve" said the cork was white which would mean the wine has just been bottled !! The question is was this the same as the Adelaide Show Wine ? Cheers Martin

04 Quartage

Just tried the 04 Shot Fire Ridge Quartage I really don't think it was a bad bottle. But I would rate it as barely drinkable. The nose shows some vanilla but no fruit ! On the palate it is flat and tasteless no length at all , if this is the Adelaide Show wine then it should not have even got a Bron...

Very nice to meet you all and enjoy some top wines. I really enjoyed the Ice Wine and the Grand Merlot. Too bad the Meschach was corked. That would have been a excellent vintage. The 97 Basket Press was good , but I have enjoyed the 91 & 94 recently. And one of my top wines ever would be the 84 ...

Ian you scores are very close to mine from last Wednesday!

I have always loved the early White Lable Pirramimma Shiraz.

In a recent mini vertical the 96 came out on top and I may have a bottle
to show you if you like ?
