FS: Kennards lay flat wine storage boxes
I purchased about 40 of these boxes for temporary storage from my local Kennards while I was rebuilding my cellar. They are usually $4.30 each when bought in bulk and come with bottle inserts, and hold 12 bottles laying flat. In good condition. Im based in Sydney inner west. If you'd like them, dona...

Re: Old Australians From Climate Controlled Storage.
Yes definitely worth it on these kind of wines as long as the prices are reasonable. The corkscrew is a Durand. Corkscrew goes in first then the ah so around it, then you spin/slide them both out together. Certainly a rip-off in price but cant argue that its the best solution for old corks. https://...

Re: Old Australians From Climate Controlled Storage.
A great old bottle opened on Saturday night. I sourced a number of these earlier in the year when I turned 40. Their cellaring provenance was highly questionable but they were cheap, so I took the risk. This was the third and last and was really fantastic. Not surprisingly the fruit had faded but it...

Re: EOI: Cellar Build DIY Project Sale
Just closing this out. Very happy that someone from this forum came and took all the materials and I'm looking forward to some photos once it is completed. I also scored a great bottle of red that I will enjoy greatly. As for my future plans, stay tuned, the garage is being built now and the replace...

NSW red stripe. I ordered 6, CC got hit today for what looks like 4 bottles. Based on the dollars it seems like I missed out on the Shiraz Mataro this year.

EOI: Cellar Build DIY Project Sale
Hi all, This is a bit unusual but I thought I'd put it out there in case there is any interest? It won't be for everyone. About 2 1/2 years ago, I built a cellar in the corner of my garage. It's detailed in this thread and the album can be seen here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/ws2CeDU3x9Bkpt8M8 It's ...

Re: Right, what are we/you drinking now .. tonight
2011 Fourrier Petit Vouguet. This was one of my best Burgundy experiences, certainly of this year and perhaps of the last couple of years. I made myself keep the rich taste in my mouth far longer than usual because of its enticing profile. Depth of exquisite fruit with perfect acid balance makes th...

Here you go. The first one shows the corner of the garage before I started, and then it's an evolution from there

Re: Wanted: Small cellar cooling unit - window style
Thank you all for the great feedback and suggestions. I apologise for the delayed response on this one. In the end I was not able to source a specialised unit at the right size and price but ended up (as per asajoseph's suggestion) using a standard air conditioner. Its keeping the cellar comfortably...

Wanted: Small cellar cooling unit - window style
Over the summer months I've been converting the corner of my garage to an insulated cellar space. All the hard work is done and I am now looking for a good quality second hand cellar conditioner/cooler for the space. Its 8m3 and heavily insulated and would suit one of the through the wall/window typ...

Re: Sept Sydney Offline: Margaret River vs. Coonawarra
Apologies, I am going to need to step out of this one. I've recently moved house and the cellar is offsite a fair way further than it used to be and Im not going to get there this weekend. Also work very busy so its probably better I miss it. Hope there is another taker....see you at the next.

Thanks for adding me Tim. Excited to attend. As I'm currently on holidays and won't likely be able to procure some Jura by the 27th I'll likely be in the 'regional stars' category. Just to clarify, does this mean wine from a region where the wine type is well known and an excellent example from a p...

Hi rooman,
Can I put my name down on the reserve list as well?
No big deal if I don't make it, but happy to fill the spot if plenty of others drop out for any reason...
Thanks
