I have a Transtherm cabinet, model is called the Loft. It is supposed to hold about 140 bottles at full capacity but I have it at about 100-120 and there is not much room left. I find that the wooden sliding shelves are just a bit small as they don't accomodate for all bottle shapes. When you have a...

Hi Bill, I did a similar type of setup (less the concrete floor) under my stairs. I used 40mm high density polurathane insulation which is the same as alot of the food transport truck bodies. I lined all walls, roof, floor and door and then covered all insulation with 4mm mdf panels also sealing aro...

I don't use a cooling system in my cellar (which I only keep my regular drinking wines in as my keepers are in a wine fridge) but I have lined the whole area with 40mm high density polyurathane insulation as used in refridgerated truck bodies. It varies in temperature between 12 - 15 degrees during ...

No, still the same. I received the information back from the data logger which showed the humidity never over 60% and as low as 30% which seems to be when the motor is running. Was told that this is normal. As now I have some super premium bottles stored I am quite concernd. I have tried putting a s...

I really enjoyed this wine. Aromas of plum, chocolate and berries. Palate well balanced and smooth with plum and red berries, slight pepper.

Hi Frank, I use a cabinet by transtherm which controls temp and humidity. It holds 140 bottles max or 90 using the shelving layout. I tried the insulation way and it doesn't work unless you use a temp controller of some sort.I couldn't find a unit that was for smaller size cellars. Do a google searc...

Low Humidity?
Recently I purchased a Transtherm wine cabinet (model name-loft) and have noticed that I have been getting very low humidity readings. At times the readings have been as low as 25% and only as high as 58%. As the loft model does not have its own humidity gauge I have been using a temp/hygrometre tha...
