I opened one about a year ago and thought it needed more time - classy, but still a bit closed and difficult; but I think it has the potential to be very good. It's in a more classic/French style than many NZ chardonnays. I have one further bottle which will sleep until next summer.

I like the 07 Block 2 better.
Cheers Rob

Don't seem to have any record of it.
Have had the Felton Road 'Elms' Chardonnay 2006,which is one of the most complex unoaked Chardonnays you'll find in NZ, and the Felton Road Central Otago Chardonnay- both 2006 and 2007 versions - this previously had 'Barrel Fermented' in the name.
The 2006 was a bold wine and needed time to open up in the glass. Lots of oak influence too. The 2007 is a more restrained version of mealy maltiness, grapefruit and spicy oak.
