Fun Wine Finds

Post by Taswegian »

Well, the current economic climate claims another victim. So in light of my new found unemployment, I decided to crack a few bottles and commiserate/celebrate. One wine in particular surprised.....
2001 eileen chard
This wine had been sitting around the house not that far from a heater (during cold tassie winters and hot summers), it had also been frozen partially. This did not fill me with great confidence, but was actually pretty good. No real notes but I vaguely remember comparing it to the Yattarna of same(?) vintage.

2002 Tom
Probably a little young, but pretty good. Very reminiscent of a decent bdx.

Torbreck Sweet, bothie?
Not that great. too cloying for me.

Then when all the peroni was finished, there was no wine left, we moved onto what is now my first choice sleeping pill.
[/b]Seppelt GR113 Rare Muscat
Very good, beautiful and rich and just what I needed.

Am now looking forward to job/house hunting in Adelaide in the new year and not having to worry about snow in winter.
Cheers
Never enough Pinot........but now I have found shiraz
