Birks to drink now?

Post by Pamela Dyson-Harvey »

Hello All
Just back from Uk again(!) and have been checking the cellar. I would really appreciate some opinions on how the following Birks are drinking - yes, I know they are long term developers!

2000 Shiraz
2004 Cabernet Malbec
2005 Cabernet Malbec
2005 Shiraz Mataro

It's great to be back in very wet S.A!
Best wishes

Hello

I can help a little

I recently enjoyed the

2001 Cabernet Malbec

2004 Shiraz Mataro

both drinking, with a long decant, really well.

The Cabernet Malbec has some serious tannins, but very ripe ones, and was really enjoyable, not ferocious or forbidding.

hope this helps?

Thankyou Gavin
I will open a bottle of the Cabernet Malbec, and also have a look at the 2000 Shiraz, and report back.
