Great red, pity about the white

Post by Gregoire »

2003 Thomas Kiss Shiraz. A Hunter wine purchased direct via mail order on release. Drank one about a year ago, and another this weekend. What a sensational wine. Looks like it's just going to get better and better. Cost about $50. Interestingly, a few weeks ago I drank a 2003 Lakes Folly red, and it too was sensational. Good year for Hunter reds it seems.

1999 Leeuwin Art Chardonnay. Corked! Again! I am having such a bloody bad run with white wines that these days, if I take an aged white under cork anywhere - I have to take two backups. I'd say two-thirds of the whites I am opening are either oxidised, or corked, or both! Grrrrrrr! I have four of these left, and am hoping I get to experience some of that LEAS magic in at least one of them.
Let the kids out!

Gregoire,

Contact Leeuwin Cellar Door and I'm sure they'll be forthcoming with a replacement bottle of current vintage LEASC, if not back vintage.

Cheers,
Max

THe Cellar door had the 1999 available for tasting a coupleof weeks ago - so should be able to replace it.
