Seppelt Rare Muscat...

Post by Adam »

Seppelt Rare Muscat (the new bottling): Had the first glass out of the bottle last night, typical rich nose of brown sugar, toffee and coffee. On the palate this tasted just like christmas cake boiled down into a syrupy liquid (spice, dried fruits, toffee etc), intense and long. I noticed that this wine tasted "fresh" (Im thinking it could be acidity, but I could easily be wrong!).

This bottling doesnt have the sheer intensity and mind blowing mouthfeel and length that the Bullers Rare Muscat does, theres no doubt its a good wine but I would pay the same money for the bullers even though its 125ml smaller.

In the grand scheme of things I think I prefer Tokay over Muscat these days.

Whats everyones favourite rutherglen fortified at the moment?

i don't have much drinking experience in this area (yet!!). anyway, i recently finished a morris liqueur tawny port and a morris liqueur muscat. in my opinion they are fabulous wines (especially for price/quality) - i must admit i didn't make any tasting notes. i went out and bought a couple more bottles including the liqueur tokay. what is the general opinion on morris?
