I've tried it in Australia twice and over here twice. All Classic Clare Cabernet fruit into this wine. On each occassion I've had it, it's amazingly dense with a deep-set core of fruit. Has tasted remarkably better the following nights when I've done the experiment twice. Given the pedigree of the label, it's one of those wines I'm convinced will last.

I have have to disagree too. Given that the 92 CC Cab was going very hard after 12 years and 2000 was a vintage that is anything was more difficult, I can see it going 20 years.
How many recent vintages of CC Cab could go 20 years? Possibly the 99 but that's about the only one.
How many vintages of Bin 56 could hold out to 15? Not many (if any) that I can think of.
I just had a look at Oliver's recommendation and he quoted "2002-2005.
Certainly when i tried it I thought it was an early drinking proposition.

I'm not going to get into a 'this wine reviewer said this' debate, suffice to say that the '71 Bin 56 is still alive and well after 30 years. Some commentators give the 2000 Bin 56 a 15yr drinking window.

Max there are freaks in any long-running label and 1971 (and maybe 72) Bin 56 was one of those, a couple of the Bin 68 Cabernet Shiraz in the mid-late 70's were still going strong at about 15 years too, but for my tastes the Bin 56/Bin 61 of the most recent 10 years will mostly have peaked before 10 yo.
Good luck with the 2000, you've only got about 14 years to go now.

While the 2000 was surprisingly good for the tough vintage, the last time I tried it (last year?) it seemed to be developing very quickly - on that form I'd agree with the red bigots it will probably see out 10 years from vintage at best.
I was told by one of the Blacktongues not to touch my last two bottles of 1996 yet - seems to confirm that the 1996 is definitely a keeper.

I have had it recently and my oppo Lincoln did too. He says -

As much as we would all like to drink Grand Cru Burgundy or first growth Bordeaux every night of the week, most of us are drinking cheaper wines on a more regular basis. Tonight I had a wine from Leasingham. From memory, 2000 was not a renowned vintage by any means, but on opening, intense ripe blackcurrants and blackberries leapt from the glass, ably supported by some vanillan oak. Quite a promising start, but in contrast, the palate seemed a lot more mature (perhaps even tired), with some dusty leather in the fore, black fruits, prominent tannins and acid. Strangely, the fruit is fading but the tannins haven’t resolved. Overall it appears to be quite an awkward wine. Drink up methinks.

That's zactly wot happened to the 92 CC Cab too.
I just thought of something else about this wine - it has the aborted 2000 Classic Clare Cabernet material in it (although it's still got a whopping 20% Malbec too).
That would go some way to explain why it was so impressive on release, but it also justifies the decision not to go ahead with the CC if it's developing as quickly as some of us think.
