“You wouldn’t believe it†he said as he tried to gain his composure.
I looked curiously, waiting for him to regain his breath and continue.
“The swell has increased and the waves are like nothing we have ever tried before.â€Â
Again I looked, this time with a little more attention, taking my first sip as the winter fire warmed my legs.
As the complexity of the cherry and fruit flavours hit my lips he continued.
“We need to do this, some wait all their lives for waves like these, these are the real dealâ€Â
As the aniseed spices continued to linger with a lovely long finish, I pondered.
“Is this really the real deal or am I being mislead?â€Â
I looked deep into the glass noticing the deep red color and took one more sip of this well balanced wine and said “You’re right it is our time, who knows if and when we will have the chance again.â€Â
I paused, lifted my glass and said “Anyway, with another good hour or so of breathing our Felix should be even better.â€Â
With that I placed my glass on the table, looked out to the open sea at the perfectly breaking waves, and pondered our return to the “real deal†knowing that I had three more bottles to enjoy over the next 5-7 years.
