Ringland's?

Post by Milwaukee Twin »

Any impression on Chris Ringland's "Three Rings", his latest export label?

Thanks.

3-Rings Barossa Valley Shiraz 2004 $15.99USD (Screwcap)
Intensely colored dense black cherry with cherry red edge. Flavors of blueberry, vanilla, chocolate and dusty earth jump out of the glass. Full bodied with fruity sweetness, fine soft tannins, and clean acid underlie a well balanced wine of excellent value. At 24 hours abundant sweet aromas highlighted by blueberry and vanilla framed by clean acidity with a core of fine, subtle tannins. 2, 2, 4.2, 10.0 = 18.2/20, 91/100. 14.9% alcohol. Tasted August 18, 2005.

When I first had it, I thought it was a typical syrupy fruit bomb with a hot finish. The 2nd occasion was a similar experience described by Mike.

I think its worth checking out another forum on this wine because it does create differing opinions - well what wine doesn't?
