TN: Lowestoft Chardonnay 2021

Post by Waiters Friend »

G’day

I bought a few of these following a Tasmanian visit nearly a year ago. After quite a few Margaret River Chardonnays in the last couple of weeks, this is surprisingly my second Tasmanian Chardonnay in two nights.

Pale lemon colour. A clean and surprisingly intense nose opens with some struck match, followed by lemon, spicy oak, fresh nectarine, cashew nut and a splash of grapefruit. The palate has an interesting tension between tangy grapefruit, ripe stone fruits and soft supportive acid. The back label uses the phrase “expressive yet understated” and that is an apt description.

Probably at its peak now.

Cheers

Wine, women and song. Ideally, you can experience all three at once.
