TN: Clarendon Hills Hickinbotham Cabernet Sauvignon 2008 (en magnum)

G’day

Tasted immediately after double-decanting the magnum in preparation for dinner with friends tonight. Purple colour and slightly glass-staining. A touch of VA on decanting which has quickly disappeared. Hints of leather open the nose, which also shows developed blackberry, mulberry and a hint of menthol or eucalypt.

The palate shows more of the menthol, along with a bigger whack of dark berries. Mildly grippy tannins and supporting acid add to a more powerful back palate / long finish. I am hopeful the wine will fill out on the front palate a little more with time in the decanter.

Cheers
Allan
Wine, women and song. Ideally, you can experience all three at once.
