G’day
The Juxtapose range was a short-lived range at Plantagenet which included this Riesling from Great Southern fruit. It may have been a side project to allow the winemakers at the time to experiment. The residual sweetness was retained by stopping the fermentation (through chilling), and the resultant wine is 10.8% alcohol. It then spent 3 months on lees prior to bottling.
While Australian Rieslings generally are known for their lime characters, this is more in the lemon spectrum, and more European in style. Fresh and preserved lemon on both the nose and palate. A tiny splash of lime on the palate also, with developed honey notes, a little saline, and a tiny amount of kero and toast. Plenty of acid as well, but not at all sharp or steely.
Fully developed and the fruit perhaps slightly fading (from what I remember of previous bottles). An interesting wine without blowing me away.
Cheers
Allan

Wine, women and song. Ideally, you can experience all three at once.
