G'day
Not to be confused with Karridale, which is southern Margaret River, the Karriview vineyard is near the town of Denmark in the Great Southern region.
Very pale garnet colour and almost transparent in the glass. Fragrant strawberry compote on the nose, with maraschino cherries, noticeable stemmy characters, nutmeg, a little cinnamon, rose petal, and cedary oak. The palate is more savoury than the nose would suggest, while carrying many of the flavours through. Tannins are fine and pretty well integrated, and the acid is merely supportive, not sharp. Medium length and very well balanced.
An excellent pinot noir, without being especially Burgundian. Viva la difference!
Cheers
Allan
