G'day
Purple in the glass, mauve at the rim. At 27 years of age, I was not looking for lots of primary fruits but there is plenty of life regardless - pot pourri, menthol, brandied Christmas pudding, vanilla, and leather.
The palate shows tangy red fruits (cooked plums, raspberries), more menthol, fully integrated tannins with some grip, and the acid is keeping a touch of freshness to the wine. The fruit continues through the palate to a moderately long and satisfying finish.
I rarely drink wines of this age, and most of them wouldn't make it anyway. This is one of the exceptions, and, although fully developed, is an interesting andpleasurable drink.
Cheers
Allan
