TN: Woodlands Cabernet Franc Merlot 2019

Post by Waiters Friend »

G'day

Time to try this unusual (for Australia) blend, which is more reminiscent of Bordeaux's Right Bank in terms of composition. Decanted prior to service.

A fragrant, almost pungent nose with violets, red and black plums, blueberries, tobacco, tomato leaf, capsicum and black pepper. The palate is medium bodied only, with supporting acid, fine furry tannins, and more of the plummy fruit. The wine finishes a little short and this is a little disappointing given the promise shown on the nose.

Not sure of the ageing potential for this, and would appreciate any advice from those who drink this regularly.

Cheers
Allan

Wine, women and song. Ideally, you can experience all three at once.
