European Frosts?

Post by Matt@5453 »

Heard many wine regions have had up to 80-90% of their harvest lost due to frost over the last 7days. Heard it is 'dire' but I don't have specifics.

I have seen this report.

Any one close to this?

They did make a giant snowball in Yorkshire in the first county cricket game of the season. Certainly a lot of hail for us this week, which can be more destructive than frosts.

Just spotted these pics on linked in - posted by Les Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite), showing their efforts to combat the frost...

It looks pretty bad indeed. Here in Paris we just have a pretty cold April but it’s certainly been hitting 1o in the mornings so I can well believe it’s been much worse in the wine regions.

Sounds terrible. This article has a good summary for each French region: https://www.wine-business-international.com/ ... age-france
