Deep garnet in colour and translucent. Bright red cherries, a little strawberry, cranberry, and some earthiness / mushroom on the nose. There's also rose petal and a touch of black pepper.
The palate is surprisingly fresh, courtesy of some good acid. Tannins are light and well integrated. The fruit flavours dominate, with some savoury characters later on the palate. It's quite lively on the palate without being overly complex, and leads to a medium finish.
A good wine from a challenging vintage.

Wine, women and song. Ideally, you can experience all three at once.
